Synopsis Radiant psychologist Katerina has to confront her worst suspicions as she accompanies Yannis, an early once-respected doctor, to identify the victim of a tragic car accident at an off-season seaside resort. Together with Yannis, as well as on her solo nightly excursions to a mysterious, rustic beach bar called Arcadia, Katerina begins to put the pieces of the puzzle together, revealing a haunting story of love, loss, acceptance, and letting go.
Arcadia premiered worldwide at Berlinale Encounters in 2024 receiving strong international acclaim. The film's festival journey began at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, where it won Best Actor, followed by screenings at Sarajevo Film Festival, where Zois received the Best Director Award from a jury chaired by Paul Schrader. The film has also won Best Screenplay at Cork International Film Festival, Best Actress at BAFICI, the FIPRESCI Award for Best International Film at TIFF, and Best Film at the San Francisco Film Festival. It was the only Greek film shortlisted for the European Film Academy Awards. In Greece, Arcadia won Best Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Director at the Greek Film Academy Awards and was selected as the country's official submission for the Academy Awards in 2026.
